Car

The Life in the UK Test venue in Nottingham is easily accessible via the A60. Parking options in the immediate vicinity are limited but generally free of charge.

Parking Options

  • Duke Street: This car park has only 14 spaces and operates 24/7. It is free to use. From Duke Street, head southwest on Gawthorne Street and continue onto Beech Avenue. The test centre is on the opposite side of Sherwood Rise, roughly an 8-minute walk away.

  • Selhurst Street: Also free and open 24/7, this car park has fewer than 25 spaces. Electric vehicle charging is available. From Selhurst Street, walk east on Berridge Road, turn left onto Sherwood Rise, and proceed for about 19 minutes to the venue. Note that there is no convenient bus service from this location to the test centre.



Bus


Several bus services pass near the test venue:

  • Service 17: Operates between Nottingham city centre and Bulwell. Exit at Ebury Road and walk west, then turn right and head up Sherwood Rise to the test centre.

  • Calverton Service: Alight at Hucknall Road, about 650m from the test centre. Walk west on New Street and continue along Hamilton Road. Turn right onto Sherwood Rise and advance northbound until you reach the venue.


Additional bus services like the 70, 71, and 69 also operate in the area and have stops within reasonable walking distance.

Train and Tram


Tram


The closest tram station is in Bulwell, more than 4km away from the venue. However, it is possible to catch a bus to complete the journey:


  • Exit Bulwell tram station and proceed to the bus stop next to Bulwell Market.

  • Take the 69 bus heading southbound to Nottingham.

  • Exit at the Health Centre on Nottingham Road and walk for about 100m. The venue will be on your left.

Train


Nottingham Train Station is not close to the New Basford test venue but is connected by public transport:


  • Catch the 11C Nottingham service from the station and exit at the Victoria Centre after about five minutes.

  • Walk north for three minutes to the bus stop outside Curry's PC World.

  • Take the 69 bus to the Health Centre and walk for a minute to reach the test venue.
