Directions

If you're planning to take your Life in the UK Test in Reading, the test centre is conveniently situated in Greyfriars House on Greyfriars Road, north of the town centre. However, for access to the test area, you'll need to use the 'Highline' building entrance located on adjacent Garrard Street. Greyfriars House is easily accessible from the A329, which connects to the A33 and leads to the M4 motorway.



Parking


Parking options near Greyfriars House are somewhat limited:

  • On-Street Parking: Greyfriars Street has limited on-street parking, but availability can't be guaranteed on the day of your test. Alternative parking is advisable.

  • Reading Train Station Car Park: Just over 300m north of Greyfriars House, parking is charged at £4.00 per hour. Payment options include cash or the APOCOA customer service line. Disabled parking is available. To reach the test venue from this car park, turn right onto Belgrave Street, then right onto Station Road, followed by another right onto Garrard Street.

Bus


Reading's local bus network offers convenient access to the test centre. Recommended bus stops are Greyfriars Road, Friar Street, West Street, or Cheapside. All of these stops are within a five-minute walk to Greyfriars House.

Train


Reading has several train stations, but the largest—and closest to the test site—is Reading Train Station, approximately 300m away. To reach Greyfriars House, please refer to the parking notes above for the walking directions.
