Directions

If you're planning to take your Life in the UK Test in Swansea, the test centre is conveniently located in the heart of the city on Wind Street. The M4 motorway provides easy access to Swansea, and if possible, it's recommended to use the A4083 as the most direct route to the test venue.

Parking

There are a few nearby parking options for test-takers, two of which are highlighted below:

  • The Strand Car Park: This car park charges £2.40 for a two-hour ticket. Given its close proximity to Wind Street, this should allow you enough time to walk to the venue, take your test, and return to your vehicle. You can use Green Dragon Lane to navigate the brief 150m distance to the test centre.

  • City Gates Car Park: Slightly more expensive than The Strand, this car park charges £1.75 per hour. To reach the test venue from here, proceed north on Little Wind Street and turn left onto Wind Street (B4489). Continue walking west to reach the test site.

For more parking options, check out the relevant Parkopedia page.

Bus

Given the central location of the test venue, multiple bus routes are available. Recommended bus stops to use include:

  • Sainsbury's (either the Swansea or St. Thomas store)

  • St. Mary’s Church

  • Castle Square

All of these stops are a few minutes’ walk from the test centre. To plan your bus journey, please follow this link and scroll to the 'bus lines' section.

Train

The Swansea Train Station is located approximately 650m north of the Wind Street test venue. Unfortunately, there aren't suitable bus services connecting the train station to Wind Street. Therefore, you'll need to complete the remaining distance on foot, which should take about eight minutes. Head south on the B4489, and you'll find the test venue on your left-hand side as you approach.
